Current Events

Eventually, a cave~in crushes
tight~ass tight~lipped holder
of secrets, these purveyors
of the religion of nihilism,
snake~oiled miserly thieves
of innocent trust
and by then it’s doubtful 
that other miners, the ones
who’ve long worked for a living,
lungs swamped in coal dust
fatigued beyond words,
will give enough of a damn
to harness the search dogs
and dig through the avalanche 
of obfuscation and lies
for a rescue attempt
anytime soon..
